Sub. : BASL Membership registration by  Individual Investment Adviser as Non Individual Investment Adviser.

Attention of BASL members is drawn to SEBI Circular No. SEBI/HO/IMD/DF1/CIR/P/2020/182 dated September 23, 2020 in context to Guidelines for Investment Advisers. 

As per clause (v) of the said SEBI circular individual Investment Advisers (IAs) are required to apply for registration as non-individual investment adviser on or before reaching 150 clients. Such BASL members need to note that before applying for registration as non-individual investment adviser with SEBI they need to obtain membership with BASL as non-individual investment adviser and then approach SEBI for further registration process.  The procedure for obtaining BASL membership by aforesaid BASL members would be as per the standard operating process mentioned in BASL circular no.  20210621-01 dated June 21, 2021 applicable to new applicants desirous of obtaining membership as Investment Adviser.  

Further BASL members shall be required to report their number of clients to BASL on a periodic basis as informed by BASL from time to time. 

As part of current compliance BASL members are advised to submit report of their number of clients in below mentioned format vide email to [email protected]. The said details are required to be submitted by Monday, May 09, 2022.
